Do you ever wonder how we actually create these awesome signs?
Here is a recent project we did for Baja Tacos and Shots. We are going to give you the inside view to how these are made.
Baja Tacos wanted something that stood out and set them apart from the rest. SO… Riverbend Signworks did just that! We started with Sign Foam material, which is dense foam, which can be tooled well. It is very even material with no grain so you get a very high end, finished appearance. Then with the technology of our CNC Router, we were able to create a custom engraved, shaped and formed masterpiece. Nate, our production specialist, routed the sign foam a few times so the finish did not have to be sanded down after it was complete.
With the Baja Tacos and Shot’s design, there was more detail involved than just designing and routing material. Since there are some sections in the design that are narrower than the rest, Nate determined the best way to make the design work but also to make sure it was durable for the customer.
Once the sign was completely routed, we used a proprietary technique to give the sign a distressed, vintage appearance.
Then it was time for paint. The white is a simple satin paint that we sprayed on. The black was a semi-gloss was rolled onto the material. Both layers had multiple coatings to create the image our customer wanted. The black and white colors are a great combination of contrast.
Once it was all fabricated and assembled, Nate and Wes finished up the mounting system so it could be installed properly on the building
So, come check out the sign when you are need of Tacos and Shots!!
