Designing, Fabricating, and Installing a Customized Awning
Awnings may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a signage company, but it is a product and service that we offer here at Riverbend Signworks. If you are looking for an awning for your business – or even residence – we offer customizable awnings.
Awnings offer a classy look for any business as they enhance elegance and shelter customers into restaurants, cafes, and hotels. Illuminated awnings are lit from underneath by fluorescent lamps. The light shines through the awning fabric, illuminating the text or graphics and can be an effective signage choice for restaurants and stores open late into the night. Even for a residential home, awnings can be a great asset to a door as you’re trying to find your keys or type in the code to unlock it during rainy weather. They also can provide shade and cooling if placed over windows at a home or business.
Materials
Riverbend Signworks offers several different options for awning covers, including fabric and rigid covers. Fabric awnings can be made from solution-dyed acrylic, canvas, vinyl, or coated polyester. Different materials are used to fabricate the underside of the awnings to hold the fabric in place and attach it to the building. Additionally we design, fabricate, and install awnings made entirely of metal or aluminum.
Logos & Graphics
Since we have graphic designers in-house and offer customized designs and logos on all types of signage, we can also create awnings with this same kind of customization as well. If you have a specific design in mind for an upcoming project, you can send files to us with said design or give us the basic idea and let our graphic designers create something custom.
Not only can we design completely new awnings, but we can also add logos or designs to awnings that are already in existence. For instance, the awning material may still be in great shape; however, the logo has changed for the business or a new business is going into a building that already had an awning on it. For these projects, we add ACM panels to the face of the awning.
Installation & Lead Time
We already have the vehicles and crew to install signage, so they are more than capable of installing awnings as well. Whether it be at a residence or at a business, we would send a measure technician out to the property before we started to fabricate the awning. We need to know what materials the awning would be hung on such as brick, concrete, or vinyl siding, to ensure that we properly purchase, fabricate, and install.
As with signage, lead times for awnings depend on several variables, including the materials and the scope of the project. Simply replacing an existing awning cover would generally have a shorter lead time. More complex projects may require us to build a new structure which involves more materials, causing the lead time to increase.
